The Western Cities HR Association has partnered with the Academy to Innovate HR (AIHR) to provide members with access to one of the leading online HR learning platforms available today.

AIHR offers a comprehensive library of certificate programs, courses, and mini-courses covering the full range of HR disciplines — including compensation and benefits, organizational development, workforce planning, learning and development, HR operations, people analytics, and diversity and inclusion. Content is self-paced and available on demand, making it practical for busy HR professionals to fit learning into their schedule.

Members who pursue certificate programs will earn recertification credits applicable to CPHR, SHRM, and HRCI designations, allowing professional development hours to count toward credential renewal at the same time.

In addition to course content, AIHR membership includes access to an HR-specific AI assistant, a library of ready-to-use templates and resources, live events with subject matter experts, and a global community of HR professionals.

2. Municipal HR Professionals LinkedIn Group 

A dedicated space for municipal HR professionals to share real-world issues and ideas, ask questions and receive answers from experienced municipal HR peers. This is a professional network hosted on LinkedIn for collaboration, idea sharing and problem solving.

4.  Group Coaching

We plan on having confidential group coaching cohorts of 10 to 15 municipal HR professionals. This is a group coaching opportunity that will focus on solving current challenges. Coaching sessions will run monthly for 6 months.  This is not a webinar or a roundtable but an actual coaching opportunity led by an ICF Certified professional Coach. This is a $750 coaching opportunity that is offered free to our members – spots are limited.

5.  Professional Development Webinars (CPD credits)

Throughout the year, professional speakers will present webinars on topics of interest to Municipal HR professionals to our members at no charge. These webinars are preapproved for CPHR CPD credits.  Upcoming webinars can be found on our website.

6.  Roundtable conversations and workshops (CPD Credits)

Roundtable conversations are interactive discussions and mini-workshops led by our HR partners. These will be scheduled regularly and there is no limit on attendance. This is a great place to reconnect with your peers, learn and share from each other.
